Insects appeared on Earth about 480 million years ago, and they survived not only dinosaurs but also natural catastrophes. Today, about 1 million species of insects are known to science. Currently, the largest collection is Entomology collection the Institute of Zoology is the Entomology Collection. As a result of re-registration of the entomology collection, 3903 species and 29242 samples were recorded.
The entomology collection includes collected from different countries of around the world, including USA, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, Austria, Hungary, and several Asian countries. The age of the entomology collection is almost a century and a half.
